Shindzela bush camp’s main area encompasses of; a covered (thatch/grass roof), safari style dining (where we serve breakfast and lunch, and should the weather be bad dinner), bar & lounge area, kitchen and a central African fireplace (boma) – a perfect spot to relive safari experiences around the fire and under the African stars.
The main area overlooks a dry river bed which is situated in front of the camp, where you can leisurely enjoy a book, game of chess or just keep an eye on the watering hole in front of camp for animals that might come down for a drink.
Your African safari is hosted by a guide and tracker who will always be around should you need to ask questions about the bird life found in camp or just for a nice chat. We also operate a bar, where guests can ask their guide/tracker for a drink or you can help yourself to the fridge and just write it down under your tent number. All non-alcoholic drinks are included in your nightly fare, and all alcoholic drinks can be settled in cash/credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) at camp upon check out.
Unfortunately guests can’t bring their own drinks, however if you prefer a certain type of wine, give us a shout and we can try and get this in for you! We also have a small curio corner stocked with local arts and crafts as well as branded Shindzela jackets, beanies, gloves, caps and shirts. All this can be added to your bar bill.
We have deliberately decided to keep the camp undeveloped, so as to better blend in to the environment, and offer guests an undisturbed wilderness experience.
